Bob lives in New Zealand. A
tiny country of around five million people at the bottom of the world. While it
is one of the smallest countries in the world, it is also one of the most
beautiful with scenery and landscapes you would have to go to several countries
to see anywhere else. From the top of the North Island where you will find the
temperature a bit warmer and long white sandy beaches, to the bottom of the South
Island where it is colder and the Bluff oysters are a delicacy, in-between you
will find mountains, snow, lakes, bubbling mud pools, volcano’s and greener
than green farm land. While there are many islands, there are two main islands,
the North and the South Island. Bob lives in the North Island in a very small
beach community of about four thousand people. Waihi Beach has over eight
kilometres of pristine coastline, a sheltered harbour and is surrounded by farm
land. It is an idyllic spot. In summer holidays the population swells to over
forty thousand. When not writing, Bob works selling Real Estate, importing and
selling electric motorbikes and solar lights.
While COVID has reached New Zealand at the time of writing there have been no
cases in Waihi Beach. Another reason why it is such a great place to
live.
Bob’s first book “The Gate in the Fence” took twelve years to write and most of
that was before he moved to Waihi Beach. He is about four chapters into his
second book, which is as yet unnamed, but is a continuation of the storyline in
the first book. Bob hopes to be able to spend more time writing in future in
the hope that the next book takes a lot less than twelve years to finish.
